Jupiter’s residential landscape creates specific guard service requirements that differ from the rest of Palm Beach County. The communities here — Admirals Cove, Frenchman’s Creek, The Bears Club, Jupiter Hills, Jupiter Country Club, Jonathan’s Landing — are large, gated, and typically staffed by their own HOA security at the main entrance. The individual estates within these communities then layer their own private security on top of the community-level access control.
The result is a two-tier security environment where the quality at each tier varies independently. A community might have excellent gate security but individual estates with no private guard coverage at all. Or vice versa — a community with ceremonial gate access and individual estates with armed guards on site 24/7.
The gap between these two tiers is where most security failures in Jupiter’s gated communities occur.
What gated community security actually provides (and doesn’t)
HOA security at the gate performs a specific function: verifying that vehicles entering the community have authorization. A resident sticker, a guest pass, a confirmed name on the visitor list. This is access control at the community perimeter. It stops unauthorized vehicles from entering the community.
What it doesn’t do is protect individual properties within the community. Once someone is past the gate — as an authorized guest, a contractor, a delivery driver, or a service worker — they have access to the internal road network and can reach any property. The gate doesn’t monitor what happens after entry. The HOA security camera typically covers the gate area, not the interior streets.
For estates within these communities that warrant private security, HKDS deploys armed or unarmed guards to the individual property with training specific to the gated community environment. Our personnel coordinate with the HOA security team on access protocols, maintain communication with the community gate for visitor verification, and provide the property-level protection that community-level access control can’t deliver.
Waterfront and marine-side coverage
Many of Jupiter’s most valuable estates sit on the Loxahatchee River, the Jupiter Inlet, or the Intracoastal Waterway. These properties have dock access, boat lifts, and waterfront exposure that the community gate does nothing to secure. A boat can approach the dock of any waterfront estate within a gated community without ever passing through the gate.
Our guard deployments in Jupiter include marine-side awareness for waterfront properties. We position observation to cover waterfront approaches, integrate dock and seawall monitoring into the guard’s patrol pattern, and train personnel to recognize watercraft activity patterns that warrant attention.
Mobile patrol across Jupiter and Tequesta
For properties that don’t warrant full-time guard deployment, or for community-wide patrol coverage, we provide mobile patrol services across Jupiter, Tequesta, Juno Beach, and the surrounding area. Our patrols conduct active property checks — not drive-by visits — with documented condition reports, alarm response capability, and direct communication with our operations center.
For seasonal properties in Jupiter’s gated communities, our mobile patrol includes vacancy checks, interior inspections when authorized, and coordination with property managers and remaining maintenance staff to maintain property security during the off-season.
